The Foundation Course begins with a short assessment session designed to help us understand each child's readiness for learning Bharatanatyam.
The assessment is not a dance audition and no prior dance experience is required. Children will participate in simple activities that allow the teacher to observe coordination, listening skills, rhythm, focus, enthusiasm, and ability to follow instructions in a group setting.
The purpose of the assessment is to:
• Ensure the child is comfortable in a structured learning environment.
• Determine the most suitable starting level.
• Maintain a positive and supportive classroom experience for all students.
Families of selected students will receive an admission offer approximately three weeks before the course begins. Due to limited class sizes, placement is subject to seat availability.

Duration: 20–30 minutes
Parent attendance: Required
Previous dance experience: Not required
Outcome: Admission offer or placement recommendation
